Camille Joan Hickman

Camille Joan Hickman, 25, of Herrin, passed away at 10:44 P.M., Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, as a result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident on July 19, 2004.
Camille was born at Du Quoin, IL on November 8, 1978, to Larry and Joyce (Craig) Hickman of Elkville.  She joined the family that included her sister Amanda Joy Hickman, now of Herrin.
She was united with Christ in baptism at the Elkville Christian Church, where she faithfully attended to worship and celebrate with her church family.  She graduated from Elverado High School in 1997.  She attended John A. Logan College, where she received an Associate degree in Accounting in 1999.  She then went to SIUC, where she completed the Paralegal capstone program and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor degree.  She was a member of the Organization of Paralegal Students.  She worked at Kroger stores in Du Quoin and Carbondale while she completed her degrees.  After graduating, she worked as a paralegal in Murphysboro and most recently in Herrin, where she was living.
Camille was an avid reader, Rams fan, and loved spending time with her family and friends going to movies, eating out and participating in traveling trivia contests.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her parents of Elkville, one sister - Amanda Joy Hickman of Herrin, maternal grandparents - Allen "Shot" and Naomi "Gene" Craig of Elkville, uncles and aunts - Robert and Helen Almaroad of Marion, Ron and Pat Craig of Vergennes, Viola and Paul Parrish of Murphysboro, Joan and Gary Degenhardt of Ava, Chancey and Vickie Hickman of Florida, Delores and James King of Murphysboro and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents - Jim and Alberna Hickman and Aunt Juanita Hickman.
Funeral services were at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 7, 2004 at the Elkville Christian Church in Elkville with Bro. Gary Pruitt officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 11 A.M. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
Interment was in Elkville Cemetery at Elkville.
